Our goal in ULTIMATE ADVENTURE BIKE AUSTRALIA is to appreciate everyone that’s having a crack — big or small — and enjoying whatever it is that’s an adventure to you. Hopefully, along the way we can steer you in the right direction (pun kinda intended) and bring to the fore just how much fun and how liberating adventure riding is. The adventure bike scene is one of the most vibrant across the globe and nowhere is it more relevant than in this vast sunburnt country. We were built by adventurers and the need to explore is in our blood. There’s never been a better time to do it on a motorcycle with an amazing array of machines and gear available for all. And now they’re finding freedom once again on bikes that take them back in bush and well beyond, in a less aggressive environment. Now is the time to reach those riders. Readers will be treated to the highest quality photography and journalism with bike tests and bucketlist rides leading the features. Each issue will also have dedicated ride tutorials and handy on track how to’s and will be chockas full of gear and accessories that we know this audience loves.

THE SPIRIT OF ENDURO • If you’re going to take on some of the wildest country in all of Australia, why not tackle it aboard the latest incarnation of BMW’s ultimate mile muncher, the new R 1300 GS Trophy? Which is just what the Darcinator did when he took aim on the BMW Safari GS Enduro from Darwin to Broome.
CUTTING THE CORNER • Some adventure rides really are good for the soul. Like ganging up with a bunch of mates and heading west, way out west. The only downer was, try as we might, we missed out on making it to Cameron Corner again in what was a case of fifth time unlucky!
HIMALAYAN HIGHWAY • When twin brothers Tom and Sam Fossati decided to celebrate their father Massimo’s 60th birthday with a ride in the Himalayas, little did they realise the profound effect the trip through such a mystical part of the world would have on them all.
ZERO HOUR • Is there an electric adventure bike in your future? Zero Motorcycles certainly believes so, and for now it comes in the shape of the $46,800 DSR/X. We charged it up and headed for the hills!
MOVIE WORLD • Rocket Rod Faggotter didn’t need to be asked twice when Adam Riemann from Motology Films was looking for a co-pilot to ride two Yamaha World Raids across Australia for his latest movie project. This is his story.
GO WEST • Is the new CFMOTO 450 MT the kind of bike that’s ripe and ready for a long-distance trip through outback NSW and Queensland? Of course it is, so we headed for Tibooburra to prove it.
WELCOME TO THE TEAM • You can never have too many project bikes in the shed! When Royal Enfield offered up a Himalayan 450 for a long-term review, we were stoked when the Darcinator leapt forward to take care of it, and we could come along for the ride!
TÉNÉRÉ COUNTRY • It’s been a while in the making, but we’ve finally had the chance to steer our World Raid project bike deep into the heart of Ténéré country on an outback NSW/Queensland expedition. And yeah, the ‘best Ténéré ever’ did not disappoint.
STOP THAT! • There’s an old rule of motorcycle riding that suggests to speed up you need to master slowing down. So pay attention as Miles presents part one of his tips on how to...
