La Koala et la Famille

ebook

Joan has travelled from the other side of the world. She flees from the Wildfires of Australia in hopes of finding a better life in Canada. As part of the immigration program, she will be taken care off by a family of immigrants. Joan is nervous about meeting her new family; the Trueyellows. But, she is also excited. You see, Joan has never seen snow. And, after the traumatic experiences of surviving the destruction of her home, she is more than ready to embrace the cold of the Francophone city of Montreal. Joan is a Koala by the way. She likes to be called Miss Joan if you don't mind.

Published in September, 2020. Written by Axel Trujillo Ledesma with a cover illustration by Axel Trujillo Ledesma. This eBook is written in Spanish and it is an original work of fiction. "La Koala et la Famille" is a semi autobiographical short story. At least some parts are exaggerated to achieve a more dramatic tone. While others are left intact. This eBook was inspired by the Author's experiences as an immigrant to the city of Montreal. As well as the wildfires in Australia, during which, Montreal was in the middle of winter. "La Koala et la Famille" is also an homage to the famous literary character; Paddington. However, this short story is dedicated to all of those who do not speak the language; but, still they feel the cold all the same.

The bulk of "La Koala et la Famille" is written in Spanish. However, Joan's dialogue with the Trueyellows is written entirely in English, since she is from Australia. While, the narrator drops small French phrases here and there.
